Guyana Metropolitan Relief Organization was founded and organized by Pastor Allan B Johnson. He desired that Guyanese in the metropolitan area would have an organization that supported them and gave back to the people in the motherland.
GuyMetro as it is fondly called, was established in 1997 and because of the vision of Pastor Johnson, has contributed over $150,000 US to Davis Memorial Hospital and the people of Guyana. Pastor Johnson was instrumental in acquiring hospital beds valuing over $100,000 which were donated by GuyMetro to Davis Memorial Hospital. He was a networker and fundraiser for the Guyanese community and those in need. In addition to his financial contributions to GuyMetro, Pastor Johnson attended every event sponsored by GuyMetro and at his passing was the resident agent of the organization. He took seriously his responsibility to the Guyanese community attending every wedding, baptism, and funeral that needed his support.
While acknowledging the tremendous loss Pastor Johnson's passing will be to the organization, we reflect on a life well lived and the unwavering commitment of this great servant of God and a friend to man. Pastor Johnson, we pledge to support your wife, Irma and family and extend to them the kindness, care, and love you so graciously gave to those who came in contact with you. May your soul rest in peace until that getting up morning.
